Appointment of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board
Mr. Tony Climie, President and CEO of Mindoro Resources Ltd. ("Mindoro"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Roger D. Morton, Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta, as Chairman of the Board and Dr. Michael G. Grace, P.Eng., as Vice-Chairman.
Dr. Roger Morton's 40 years of academic and mineral resource exploration experience has earned him international recognition. Dr. Morton has performed international research and consulting in economic geology for companies such as Shell Canada, Exxon, Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas, Urangesellschaft Canada, Uranerz Canada, Pan Ocean, Getty Mines and Chevron Standard. This was while serving as Professor at the University of Alberta, and included work in the United States, South Africa, Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Dr. Morton has also held various voluntary consulting and advisory positions, including to the Philippines National Oil Company and Energy Development Corp., and to the governments of Guyana, People's Republic of China, Canada and Indonesia.
With extensive experience as a director of mineral exploration and mining companies, such as Star Resources Ltd., Solitario Resources Ltd., and Golden Star Resources Ltd. - among others, Dr. Morton brings a wealth of junior resource management knowledge to the position of Chairman of the Board. Dr. Morton has become, with his exceptional blend of business and technical expertise, a widely recognized and highly acclaimed speaker at mineral exploration and investment conferences.
Dr. Michael Grace graduated with a Doctorate in Mathematical Statistics from Harvard University. His 36 year academic record and business management experience includes numerous adjunct or honorary professorships in the Faculty of Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at the University of Alberta, as well as part-time academic appointments at the University of Western Ontario and University of Calgary. Dr. Grace has provided services for more than 20 years through his company for major international companies such as Merck, Eli Lilly, and Smith Kline Beecham, among many others, as well as to different departments of the Government of Canada and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Grace has served as a board member or director of many private and public businesses and foundations, as well as serving as a committee member for the Medical Research Council, Health and Welfare Canada and National Cancer Institute. A private consultant for research projects encompassing project development and research design, Dr. Grace brings valuable business management and ethics insights and strategic thinking to the position of Vice-Chairman.
