After months of preparation, on July 2 to 6, 2007, a medical/ surgical/dental/optometry Outreach mission was carried out in the municipality of Santiago. The Outreach served nine barangays (E. Morgado, La Paz, Colorado, Lawigan, Tinigbasan, Tagpangahoy, Curva, Jagupit, and Binuangan). Approximately 1,700 people were helped during this five-day Outreach. Much needed medications were given out to patients. Of those people seen, 64 received minor surgical treatment, 237 received dental care, and 484 were given eye examinations and eye glasses.
Mindoro provided logistical support for the Outreach, including arrangements for accommodation, cooking and serving meals, transportation for the medical team and for patients to and from their communities, purchasing medical supplies and arranging local medical and governmental support.
